The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at The University of New South Wales has highly experienced staff in a wide range of disciplines, which are related to mechanical and manufacturing engineering. These include the five areas of specialisation within the School, which are Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering and Naval Architecture.

Mechlab @ UNSW

Mechlab @ UNSW is a Project Management Group which provides the availability and capability of the various testing facilities, research capabilities and professional consultants within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at The University of New South Wales to Industry. The key testing laboratories within Mechlab include Acoustics, Vibrations, Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer Modelling, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Internal Combustion Engines, Magnified Imaging, Manufacturing Processes, Mechanics of Solids, Mechatronics, Precision Measurements, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Solar Thermal Energy, and Surface Finish and Metrology.
