Introduction

OHS & Security contains information on safe working practice, security procedures and procedures for emergencies for staff and students in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. A printed version of this, entitled Safe Working Manual, may be downloaded as a PDF file — click here (353 KB).

Before you start work in a laboratory or undertake any activity which might be considered hazardous in any way, you must read and understand the practices and procedures described in the Safe Working Manual. Each Laboratory is managed by an Officer-in-Charge (OIC).

How to Access the School's Laboratories

Willis Annexe has swipe card access 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Access will only be granted as outlined in Access to Laboratories. For a summary of the required procedures, see the laboratory access Flow Chart.
