Undergraduate and Postgraduate Coursework STUDENT Checklist

  • Get your Student ID Card from FM Assist - Level 2 Mathews Building F23.
  • Become familiar with the UNSW terminology (courses, programs (your degree), plans (your major), etc).
  • Make sure your course enrolment is complete.
  • Work out how to access your zpass UNSW student email account.
  • Buy your textbooks from the Bookshop or second-hand (it’s good to wait until you've attended your first   class in case you don't need to buy them all).
  • Organise your timetable - find out where and when your first classes will be.
  • Visit the Engineering Student Centre and know where your School Office is. Mechanical Engineering School Office is on Level 1 of the Mechanical Engineering Tutorial Building.
  • Get to know your campus (Campus maps).
  • It’s important that you have a safe time, as well as a great time, at UNSW, so visit the School’s H&S page to ensure you gain access to laboratories, etc.
  • Familiarise yourself with the UNSW Student Code of Conduct, noting that plagiarism is taken very seriously at this University, and the UNSW IT Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
  • Check UNSW and Faculty support services.
