The 2013 PGC Project Handbook has useful information for those students interested in undertaking a project. Students will also find helpful instructions in Introduction to Thesis Writing - Structures and Processes as they begin their project work.
Students must advise the Postgraduate Coursework Administrator of their intention to undertake project work as early as possible in their enrolment. It is important that a decision on the topic be made as early as possible in the program so that all relevant coursework may be undertaken prior to commencing project work.
The research interests of the various academic staff members in the School may be obtained from their staff profiles in Staff Database, which may be used as a guide for finding a topic and a supervisor.
Students are expected to submit bound copies of their project directly to the Postgraduate Coursework Administrator by the Friday preceding the start of the following Semester. This submission date is recorded and the project then passed on for assessment. If a student requires further time to submit their project, re-enrolment is required and submission is due by the Census date of that semester (i.e. 31st March for Semester 1 or 31 August for Semester 2). Once a project is submitted, enrolment for that semester is cancelled and the grade updated once assessment has been completed.
Sometimes a project contains confidential material. This will require a Confidentiality Form PGC to be included with the project at the time of submission.
